Bramble

Stage 5!

V:  well I had to add a stage 5 as it just was not working for us.  She is a bit scary but finishes it off.  Name?  no idea!

Stage 4

CY: Sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't. Bramble was a fight against less-than-desirable effects - at least on my side. I wanted to enhance the green wire by adding bright green highlights. As when I get highlights in my hair I ended up wondering, 'What was I thinking?!' This one needs a Stage 5, Valerie.

Stage 3

CY: It's a good thing we don't have a Stage 2 pic to post - it was a less-than-successful glob of acrylic medium and crayon. Val neutralized the mucky-coloured texture by layering it over in gold, then adding another bramble layer of fine green wire.

Stage 4

V....when I got this one back for its final transformation I immediately thought of the maple leaf as the jam jar lid in the middle says made in Canada.  Could not resist using those little flags in the corners and adding a bit more red here and there!

Stage 3

C: Using Val's painted design as a focal point, I started playing with the space between a mandala and banal household objects. Embedded behind an old glass Canada Gem lid, Val's markings seem a little more mysterious.

CY: I am the lucky recipient of heaps of doilies from someone's mom. I thought this one might make an interesting ground.
